Moscow metro

Moscow metro, something grandiose, an outstanding one, existing independently of anything else, it's a city in the city. It has its own atmosphere, its own rules, it has its own life.
177 stations, 12 lines, 8 million people daily traffic flow and huge moscow metro hardly manages with this.
If Mr.Stalin decided to make something, he managed to make it on a noble scale, thus every of stations built during his life is a state of art, I adore these stations as an element of history.
1. Supposing the World War II to begin, Stalin prohibited to build the stations near the ground. He ordered to check the bomb effect to count the depth-level of stations.
2. On the 6th of November 1941 (the eve of Revolution day) there was held a government concert in the hall of Mayakovskaya station (Moscow was in a siege and it was impossible to hold the event in a Bolshoy Theatre)
3. It has some secret lines, bunkers, a way to Stalin's residency, in fact there are lots of tunnels under Moscow which are now not used, but it's a huge entertainment for diggers now )).
4. It took me more than a year to remember the main stations, nevertheless, I don't remember where certain stations are situated, since even living 5 years in Moscow you may hardly visit every station :)
5. MOSCOW METRO IS NOT ACCOMODATED FOR FOREIGN VISITORS AND IT IS ALWAYS A SHAME! It's a shame because many years passed since we are a democratic country, involved to international economics, finance, trade relations. Finally many foreigners live and work here in Moscow. The signs, arrows, names of stations are indicated only in Russian cyrillic language and it's always wonderful to see a foreigner's impressed glance on searching the way. More to say, even moscovites don't always exactly know the way and have to look the signs, thus Moscow metro is something like a jungle for a visitor. The positive fact is the adrenaline they get during their metro trips )).
